Beginning of our Story

So, what is hoodPALS all about, you ask. Good question, and one which I will address over a series of blog posts.

hoodPALS is yet another social media website. Yes, another one like all the others including you-know-who. That's where the similarity ends.

hoodPALS is the newest and most revolutionary social networking site. We are repaving the Information Superhighway by reinventing Social Networking! Where do you call home? Regardless of where, we welcome you. Now you have a second home, hoodPALS: a home away from home to share with your family, friends, and the people (your PALS) in your community or neighbourhood (your hood). Together, we will build neighbourhoods globally as hoodPALS.

In the next series of blog posts I will dive more into this. Let's start with the name, hoodPALS. I created this name. It consists of two parts: hood and pals.

Let's, start with hood. The definition of a hood is slang for a neighborhood. An example of a hood is what you'd call the area in which you live. This is core to hoodPALS. We are breaking it all down from the top to hoods. It is something we can all identify with. Where we live. Where we may work. Where we play. It is part (a big part) of whom we are. It is hoodPALS' goal to bring together people sharing the same neighbourhood, and bringing people together with people in other neighbourhoods. To make this blue marble we call Earth a little smaller. Together we can make a difference. Simple.

Then, pals. Pals is a slang term pal most often used as just another word for friends or good buddies. Pals in your hood, or hoods in other hoods. It's all good. Pals you have known since childhood. Pals you met in adult life. Pals who met in hoodPALS while exploring your hood or other hoods. It's why I created hoodPALS. To bring us all together. Simple.

More to come about how else we differ from the others. They are 'revolutionary', and set us apart as unique. Simple.
